Turkey's Foreign Minister to Visit Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic

Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu will pay visits to Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyz Republic on March 5-10, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday.

Mevlut Cavusoglu will meet top officials of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyz Republic during the visits, according to the statement.

As part of the visits, Minister Cavusoglu is planned to meet with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, as well as Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulukbek Maripov and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov, the Ministry said.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry added that the second meeting of the Turkish-Uzbek Joint Strategic Planning Group and the fifth meeting of the Turkish-Kyrgyz Joint Strategic Planning Group will be held during the visits. Cavusoglu will also attend the official opening of the Turkish Consulate in Samarkand.

During the meetings with officials of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyz Republic, Turkish Foreign Minister is expected to discuss bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international developments.

During a joint news conference with Turkmen Foreign minister Rashid Meredov on February 23 in Ankara, Minister Cavusoglu said Ankara is ready to do its part to bring Turkmenistan's natural gas through Turkish soil to Europe.
