Turkmenistan’s Ýelken Produces Over 22 Million Polypropylene Bags
Ýelken IE has the capacity to produce 30-35 million polypropylene bags and 60-80 thousand square meters of sandwich panels annually.

Ýelken Individual Enterprise, located at the industrial zone of the Ak Bugday etrap in Turkmenistan’s Ahal velayat, has produced more than 22 million polypropylene bags last year.

In an interview with the Business Turkmenistan at an exhibition dedicated to the 13th anniversary of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET), the company's representative Batyr Allanazarov said the company produces bags ranging from 35 to 85 centimeters wide and up to 125 centimeters long.

According to Allanazarov, the company’s bags are used in the packaging of food products such as flour, rice, sugar, and construction materials such as cement, gypsum and lining. These bags are designed for weight up to 50 kg.

In addition to polypropylene bags, the company also produces sandwich panels with a thickness of 6 to 20 centimeters and a length of up to 12 meters. The company manufactures sandwich panels upon orders, with their size determined by the customer.

The production equipment was imported from Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and Italy, Allanazarov continued, the enterprise is designed to produce 30-35 million polypropylene bags and 60-80 thousand square meters of sandwich panels annually.

Most of the raw materials used in production are purchased from the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries and the Kiyanly Polymer Plant.

Ýelken IE was founded in 1998. Since then, the company has been selling building materials and food products. Since 2016, in order to form import-substituting industries in Turkmenistan, the company has begun production of polypropylene bags. The cement plants in Lebap, Balkan and Ahal velayats use the company’s polypropylene bags.
