Turkmenistan’s Mary, Iran’s Khorasan Rezavi Regions to Intensify Trade Cooperation
The Turkmen and Iranian officials spoke in favor of continuing the organization of bilateral talks to expand trade and economic cooperation.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan held an online meeting of officials of Turkmenistan with representatives of state structures and a number of leading companies operating in the Iran’s Khorasan Rezavi province. The sides discussed the matters of intensification of trade-economic cooperation between Turkmenistan’s southeastern velayat of Mary and Iran’s Khorasan Rezavi province.

The Turkmen side in the talks included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. The Iranian side consisted of representatives of state structures and leading companies, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.

The meeting participants spoke in favor of continuing the organization of bilateral negotiations, which would make it possible to concretize the vectors of joint work to expand trade and economic cooperation.

Iran plans to build a port along Makran coast in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan with a cargo handling capacity of up to 200 million tons.
