Private Sector’s Growth in Central Asia and Caucasus Discussed Online
The Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldi Serdarov informed about the measures taken by the country to maintain macroeconomic stability.

A governmental delegation from Turkmenistan took part in an online discussions organized by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank on Monday. The event participants discussed such priority issues as macroeconomic cycles in the Caucasus and Central Asia and promoting the growth of the private sector of the regions’ economies.

The online event was attended by the heads of the Central Banks and ministries of finance of the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.

The parties also discussed the issues of expanding financial coverage and the policy framework for maintaining financial stability in the Caucasus and Central Asia.

In his speech, the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldi Serdarov informed about the measures taken by the country to maintain macroeconomic stability.

The International Monetary Fund is a partner of Turkmenistan in economic reforms and provides technical assistance to support ongoing macroeconomic reforms.

Established in 1944, the IMF consists of 190 member countries. Turkmenistan became a member of the IMF on September 22, 1992.
