Turkmenistan, Qatar Aim to Bolster Business Ties
Rejepov confirmed the desire of his country to develop its cooperation with Qatar in investment and economy fields.

Turkmenistan-Qatar Business Meeting, held online on Monday, focused on horizons of cementing cooperation between the private sectors of the countries, and exploring investment opportunities available in both countries, the official media of Qatar reports.

The online meeting was organized by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen side, led by the Head of the Turkmen CCI Dovletgeldi Rejepov, included representatives of Turkmen ministries, Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gaz) and Türkmennebit (Turkmen Oil) state concerns, Türkmenhaly (Turkmen Carpet) State Association, and Turkmen businesses, according to the official website of the Turkmen CCI.

The Qatari side was headed by the First Vice Chairman of Qatari CCI Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari and included representatives of companies specializing in various industries.

The First Vice Chairman of Qatari CCI noted that despite their distinct relations, the trade relations between the two countries are not correspondent with the giant potential and resource they own, especially that both are key players in the world's energy market.  

He confirmed the private sector's role on both sides in developing commercial relations between the countries through establishing active partnerships and economic alliances between Qatari and Turkmen firms.

Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari also invited Turkmen companies to invest in Qatar and take advantage of a variety of opportunities which are available in all its sectors.  He also called on Qatari businesses and investors to invest in Turkmenistan, referring to Qatar's strategies aiming at diversifying the economy and establishing successful investments in friendly countries.

In turn, Chairman of Turkmen CCI expressed his thanks to Qatari chamber for its interest in boosting relations between businesses from both countries.

Rejepov also confirmed the desire of his country to develop its cooperation with Qatar in investment and economy fields.

He introduced an overview about the economy and investment incentives offered for foreign investors in Turkmenistan, calling Qatari investors to invest in the country which offers a lot of opportunities in several sectors such as infrastructure and energy.

In a telephone conversation in November last year, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamed Al Thani confirmed the intent of both countries to strengthen productive trade and economic partnership, to promote close business contacts in various spheres.
