The Asian economy is recovering from the negative impact of the pandemic and is projected to grow more than 6.5% in 2021, TASS news agency cites the Secretary General of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Li Baodong as saying on Sunday.

"According to our forecasts, the GDP growth rate in Asia in 2021 will accelerate and will exceed 6.5%," Li Baodong said at a press conference for the BFA’s Annual Conference 2021, taking place in Boao, a coastal town in south China’s Hainan Province.

The BFA Secretary General added that this key indicator indicates positive changes in the development of the international economy in the post-pandemic era.

This year, the Boao Forum, dubbed the Davos of the East, runs from 18 to 21 April. More than two thousand guests from more than 60 countries are expected to take part in it in person.
