Turkmenistan’s Major Refinery Launches Production of Pearlized BOPP Film
The TCOR is expected to produce 2,000 tons of pearlized white polypropylene film annually.

Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR) launched the production of pearlized white polypropylene film, which is widely used in the packaging of food products, Vice-Premier Shahym Abdrahmanov told in his report to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during an online Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday.

The new type of polypropylene film supplement’s the refinery’s other 20, 25 and 30-micrometer thick packaging films, the official media of Turkmenistan reports. The TCOR is expected to produce 2,000 tons of the new polypropylene film annually and supply it domestic and foreign markets.

The Vice-Premier said the first batch of the new product will be sold through the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.

Following the Vice-Premier’s report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said the new product will be widely used in different segments of the national economy.

The Head of State then emphasized the importance of further increasing the volume of production in the country of different petrochemical products and increasing their range, and addressed a number of relevant instructions to the Vice-Premier.

The TCOR is the largest enterprise in Turkmenistan. In terms of its scale, it is comparable to the leading oil refining concerns. The TCOR includes two plants, numerous oil depots and filling stations.
