The second United Nations (UN) Global Sustainable Transport Conference will be held from 14-16 October 2021 in China’s capital of Beijing, according to the UN website.
The conference themed "Sustainable Transport, Sustainable Development" will be held both online and offline, and will include such events as a ministers' forum and thematic sessions.
The conference aims to indicate a way forward for sustainable transport to help achieve the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement, according to the UN
The international conference was previously scheduled for May last year but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first UN Global Sustainable Transport Conference was held in Turkmenistan’s capital of Ashgabat in November 2016.
