Afghanistan's Neighboring Countries Hold Talks on Afghan Issues
Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hajiyev expressed Turkmenistan’s position on current events in Afghanistan and in the region.

The virtual meeting of foreign ministers of Afghanistan's neighboring countries took place on Wednesday at the initiative of Pakistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan said in its press release.

The consultations gathered diplomats of Turkmenistan, Iran, China, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hajiyev expressed Turkmenistan's position on current events in the neighboring country and in the region.

“The current meeting is regarded as an opportunity to work out a consolidated regional approach to peace and security in Afghanistan and the further comprehensive development of this country” the Turkmen side underlined at the meeting.

During an online talks on Sunday, special representatives of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries on Afghan issues exchanged views on the current situation in the country and the efforts of the international community in this direction.
