Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR), Turkmenistan’s main refining plant located in the country’s western velayat of Balkan, aims to build hydrogen production unit.

The international tender of the complex for the unit’s design, construction and commissioning was published on the Saturday issue of the local Neytralnyi Turkmenistan newspaper.

Tender proposals from bidders are accepted within 60 working days from the date of publication of the tender announcement.

Established in 1943, the TCOR underwent a radical transformation during the independence years of Turkmenistan and is now one of the leading oil refineries in the region.

The complex on the Caspian shore is engaged in the processing of oil and gas condensate, the production of different oil and petrochemical products, including polypropylene and liquefied natural gas (LNG), and their further sale in the domestic and foreign markets.

In May, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of paying special attention to the possibilities of establishing and broadly studying the production of hydrogen, which is considered as the "fuel of the future" in the developed countries of the world.
