Exports From Iran’s Sarakhs to Turkmenistan Triple on Recent Agreements
The number of trucks crossing the border a day have increased to 150, compared to 50 trucks two weeks ago.

Recent agreements reached by Iranian and Turkmen officials have led to tripling of exports from the Iranian Sarakhs County to Turkmenistan, the Governor of the northeastern district Mohammad Reza Rajabi told IRNA news agency on Thursday.

He said the number of trucks crossing the border from Sarakhs County toward Turkmenistan a day have increased to 150, compared to 50 trucks two weeks ago.

Rajabi stressed that border interaction and trade between the two countries have increased in light of the prioritization of relations with neighbors under the current Iranian administration.

Iran’s exports by rail through its Sarahks border crossing to Central Asia during the spring and summer seasons of this year tripled compared to the same period last year. Around 600,000 tons of Iranian goods were exported in over 9,500 freight wagons through Iran’s Sarakhs land border with Turkmenistan during the period.
