Turkmen President, Top Austrian Diplomat Discuss Partnership Prospects

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Tuesday in Ashgabat received Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria Michael Linhart. The meeting featured an exchange of views on the state and prospects of the Turkmen-Austrian partnership.

The officials highlighted that the Austrian businesses and European businesses in general are striving to strengthen their presence in the promising Turkmen market with favorable investment climate. Industrial sector, energy and transport were outlined among promising areas of cooperation, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.

The Turkmen Head of State and the Austrian Foreign Minister spoke in favor of further strengthening the traditional political and diplomatic dialogue, continuing the practice of regular consultations through the foreign ministries.

The sides reaffirmed the commitment of the two states to a constructive partnership within the framework of authoritative international organizations, coordination of efforts to ensure regional and global security and stability.

At the end of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Federal Minister Michael Linhart expressed confidence in the further development of interstate relations.

Austrian Foreign Minister Michael Linhart also held talks with Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
