Turkmenistan, China Ink Documents on Expanding Bilateral Ties
The meeting also featured discussions on the implementation of agreements in the oil and gas industry, in particular the export of Turkmen natural gas to China.

The fifth meeting of the Turkmen-Chinese Cooperation Committee was held online on Monday. The meeting participants exchanged views on the current agenda of cooperation between the two countries in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as on issues of expanding the spheres of interaction. The meeting resulted in the signing of a package of international documents.

The meeting was co-chaired by Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Deputy Deputy Chairman of Cabinet of Turkmenistan, and Han Zheng, the Politburo Standing Committee member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Vice Premier of the State Council of China, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in its press release.

The meeting also featured discussions on the implementation of agreements in the oil and gas industry, in particular the export of Turkmen natural gas to China.

The officials also highlighted the effectiveness of the interaction within the China + Central Asia format.

The sides emphasized importance of transport and logistics in ensuring economic development of the two countries.

A package of international documents signed during the meeting includes Protocol of the fifth meeting of the Turkmen-Chinese Cooperation Committee, The program of cooperation between the governments of Turkmenistan and China for five years (2021-2025).

Agreement between the governments of Turkmenistan and China on cooperation in international cybersecurity, Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Turkmenistan and China on Biological Security, and Cooperation program to expand economic partnership between the governments of Turkmenistan and China were also signed during meeting.
