President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent a letter of condolences to the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev on Monday.

The Head of State expressed deep condolences to Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan in connection with the numerous human casualties and injuries resulting from the tragic events of recent days in Kazakhstan, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported on its website.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan said in its press release issued last Thursday that Turkmenistan is following with concern the events taking place in recent days in Kazakhstan.

Based on the centuries-old ties of friendship and brotherhood, good-neighbourly relations and ties of strategic partnership, we are sincerely interested in the soonest normalization of the situation in the country and further stable socio-political and socio-economic development of Kazakhstan, the Turkmen foreign policy agency stated in its statement.
