President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in a phone talk with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Monday expressed his support for the Turkmen Leader’s decision to hold early presidential elections, the press service of the Kazakh President said in its statement.
The Presidents noted with satisfaction the growth of mutual trade and increased cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, industry, and agriculture.
During the talks, the Turkmen side expressed its readiness to expand cooperation in the fuel-energy sector, according to the official media of Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen Leader noted that our countries now have sufficient potential to intensify joint work in the field of transport, in particular by expanding international shipping routes, taking advantage of the favorable location of the two countries at the crossroads of continents.
The sides also expressed their intention to further expand political, economic and cultural relations between the countries and their peoples.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan were established in 1992.
