Turkmenistan, IFAD to Consider Projects to Support Agricultural Producers

Turkmen Ambassador to Italy Toyly Komekov held a meeting with President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Gilbert Fossoun Houngbo at the Fund’s headquarters in Rome on Tuesday, the Turkmen Embassy in Italy announced in its statement.

During the meeting, the sides noted Turkmenistan's readiness to work with IFAD and strengthen cooperation to implement joint projects to support agricultural producers in the future.

The Turkmen diplomat informed about reforms and extensive work carried out in Turkmenistan to transform agriculture into a high-tech industry open to innovative solutions.

President of IFAD, in turn, informed about the activities of the Fund and the projects implemented by the organization around the world to improve the well-being of rural population.

IFAD is a specialized UN agency dedicated to mobilizing financial resources to increase food production and improve agricultural technologies in rural areas.
