Ashgabat Expects Proposals For New Projects From Turkmen-Tatar Working Group

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in a Tuesday phone talk with President of Russia’s Tatarstan Republic Rustam Minnikhanov said he expects concrete proposals from the Turkmen-Tatar Working Group to increase the volume of mutual trade, implementation of large-scale projects in the spheres of industry and high technology.

The sides reiterated readiness to further intensify cooperation in a number of areas and discussed specific steps to advance previously reached agreements. It was stated that the implementation of these agreements will give additional impetus to strengthening relations in various fields, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.

President Rustam Minnikhanov expressed the interest of Tatar business circles in expanding its activities in the promising Turkmen market.

Rustam Minnikhanov also thanked the President of Turkmenistan for his personal attention to the development of cooperation and support of joint projects, the press service of the Tatar President said in its statement.

The sides also discussed the successful interaction of such Tatar enterprises as KAMAZ, Tatneft, Kazan Helicopter Plant and KER-holding with Turkmenistan, and also agreed to continue joint work to further strengthen the Tatar-Turkmen economic and cultural ties.

During the meeting in Ashgabat in May 2021, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Tatar President Rustam Minnikhanov discussed the delivery of electric buses KAMAZ to Turkmenistan.
