The two-day meeting of the managements of the railways of six countries – Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Turkey – started in Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent on Wednesday.
The meeting participants discuss matters of the development of the international multimodal route Asia-Pacific countries - China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Turkey – Europe, the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan reports.
The meeting focuses on such issues as the organization of uninterrupted transportation of goods along the international multimodal route, the creation of favorable conditions for attracting additional volumes of cargo, as well as the timely supply of wagon platforms (intended for transportation of large-capacity containers) and the establishment of tariff rates.
This is the fourth such meeting of the heads of railways of the countries. The previous such meeting was held in December 2021 via a video link.
