Turkmen Delegation Attends Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development

The Turkmen delegation takes part via video link in the ninth Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development, organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.

The Turkmen delegation includes representatives of the national parliament, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection and state entities, the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan said in its press release.

The main purpose of the forum is to discuss activities for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals and the achievements made in this direction, exchange experience, as well as discuss the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemic recovery issues.

Acting Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan also gave speech at the forum, focusing on the measures taken to achieve the SDGs in the country. He also noted that since the beginning of the pandemic, the Government of Turkmenistan has taken active measures to mitigate the impact on the manufacturing sector of the economy, preserve jobs and protect the population.

The forum started on Monday and will continue until March 31.
