ECO Countries Look to Expand Transit Cooperation
The meeting participants also considered development of a coordination mechanism for financing and implementing ECO projects.

A meeting of deputy foreign ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) to improve the effectiveness of the organization started in Tehran on Monday.

The sides agreed that activities in transit field between member countries should be expanded, and tariffs should be the unified and coordinated among member states, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan said in its press release.

The meeting participants also considered development of a coordination mechanism for financing and implementing ECO projects.

The ECO is an intergovernmental organization which was founded in 1985. The organization members are Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
