The Turkmenbashi Jeans Complex of the Gap-Türkmen Closed Joint Stock Company produces from 350,000 to 500,000 denim products a month, the complex's representative Orazbagt Shukurova told Business Turkmenistan during the exhibition of Trade Complex of Turkmenistan on Monday.
The complex, located in Turkmenistan’s Ashgabat, consists of spinning, dyeing, weaving and sewing workshops. Its denim fabrics and clothing are in high demand in international markets, Shukurova added.
The jeans complex has also started producing a new fabric that contains 5% elastane and 95% cotton.
The company has recently unveiled a new jeans collection under its Bedew brand.
The complex’s foundation was laid in 1993 in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan and Gap Guneydogu of Calik Holding Group. The plant currently employs more than 3 thousand specialists. Its denim garments are exported to the UK, Ukraine, Turkey, the UAE, Russia, Poland and the Czech Republic.
