Turkmen Company Tebigy Ekin Harvests 2,135 Tons of Potatoes
Tebigy Ekin has planted 200 hectares of carrots and 50 hectares of cabbage along with potatoes.

Tebigy Ekin company, agricultural producer based in Charjev district in Turkmenistan’s Lebap province, harvested 2,135 tons of potatoes from 260 hectares this year.

The company, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET), has leased 953 hectares of land under a long-term contract in 2019. It grows a variety of food crops, vegetables and orchards, the UIET reported on Tuesday.

According to the company employee Serdar Nedirov, Tebigy Ekin has planted 200 hectares of carrots and 50 hectares of cabbage along with potatoes. To date, it has harvested 800 and 275 tons of these products respectively.

“Our 5 hectares of red beets are also ripening. We expect to get 15 tons of the produce from it. I would also like to note that this year we planted garlic on 30 hectares of land and harvested 22 tons it," Serdar Nedirov stated.

The company has planted pumpkins and melons on 26 hectares of land  and has harvested 250 and 1000 tons of the produces respectively.

Tebigy Ekin has also planted fruit trees such as apples, pears, plums and peaches on 25 hectares of land, which are expected to be harvested next year.
