Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) JSC, the Georgian state-owned enterprise, and the natural gas producer of Turkmenistan Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern, reached a preliminary agreement on deliveries of Turkmen natural gas and oil to Georgia.
The agreement was reached during the visit of the delegation of the Georgian company, led by CEO George Chikovani, to Ashgabat last week, according to the GOGC press release.
The talks with Türkmengaz focused on future joint activities to promote exports of Turkmen gas to the west through the South Caucasus Energy Corridor and possible supply of Turkmen gas to Georgia.
The sides also discussed the increase of the exports of Turkmen oil and oil products to Georgia and arrangement of their transportation to the Black Sea ports.
GOGC, founded in March 2006, is a diversified company with business activities in different energy segments. It is responsible for the gas supply network of Georgia, security of gas supply and diversification of such supply routes.
