Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, arrived in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand city on Friday to participate in the Summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States.
At the airport, the Halk Maslakhaty Chairman was greeted by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, the Press Service of the President of Uzbekistan said in its statement.
Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov will take part in the OTS summit as an honorary guest.
The summit, hosted by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will also be attended by the Presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Türkiye. The Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban and the OTS Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev will also participate in the meeting.
At the upcoming OTS summit, Turkmenistan is expected to become a full member of the organization.
