Turkmenistan Looks to Host International Tourism Forum in Avaza
The forum will focus on strengthening cooperation with foreign partners, as well as to expand contacts with leading specialized organizations.

Turkmenistan intends to invite representatives and experts of the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations (UNWTO) to the Avaza National Tourism Zone and to organize a forum on the development of international tourism in the second quarter of 2023 within the visit’s framework.

The proposal was voiced by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov during a working meeting hosted by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of the country’s bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, in Avaza on Thursday, the country’s official media reports.

The forum will focus on strengthening cooperation with foreign partners, as well as to expand contacts with leading specialized organizations.

The Turkmen Foreign Minister also stressed the importance of increasing and systematic capacity building in the field of environmental, nature and medical tourism.

The working meeting discussed the further development of the Avaza NTZ and effective realization of the transport and transit potential of Balkan province.
