Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu in a meeting in Ankara on Monday discussed the preparations for the trilateral summit of the Heads of Turkmenistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan in Avaza, located in the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.

Speaking at the joint press conference following the meeting, Mevlut Cavusoglu said that they decided that it would be useful to hold a meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Energy and Transportation of the three countries before the summit.

The top diplomat of Turkey added that five agreements will be signed within the scope of the meetings. He also informed that President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will visit Turkey at the beginning of next year.

During the press briefing, Rashid Meredov informed that the meeting with Cavusoglu discussed strengthening relations in trade-economic, transportation, humanitarian and other fields, as well as regional issues.

The head of Turkmen foreign policy agency added they agreed on further cooperation with the countries of the region in order to continue the humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan.

The meeting also discussed some regional issues and bilateral cooperation, including in transport, trade-economic, political-diplomatic and cultural areas.

The visit of Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov to Turkey started on Sunday.
