President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met on Monday in Ashgabat with Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-US Business Council Eric Stewart, Nicklaus Companies executive John Reese, Founder and Chairman of UGT Renewables Goran Rajsic, and CEO of Climate Compass Kevin James.
The executives of US companies expressed gratitude to the Turkmen President for the opportunity to discuss priority issues of bilateral relations and reaffirmed the desire of US business circles to expand productive ties with Turkmenistan, the official Turkmen media reports.
Welcoming the US business executives, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked them for their interest in cooperation with Turkmenistan and willingness to work in the Turkmen market.
President Berdimuhamedov welcomed UGT Renewables, a company specializing in renewable energy, to the Business Council. The Head of Turkmenistan also said the country is open for effective cooperation taking into account the vast experience of the company in the field of solar energy.
President Berdimuhamedov also said Turkmenistan is implementing large-scale infrastructure projects in the oil-gas sector, stressing that this also creates favorable opportunities for establishing Turkmenistan-US cooperation, including with Climate Compass.
The businessmen reaffirmed the desire of US businesses to strengthen their positions in the promising Turkmen market and participate in implementation of new joint projects.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan, which implements an economic policy aimed at active implementation of innovations, attracting the best international practices and advanced technologies, is always open for constructive cooperation.
On the same day, a Turkmenistan-US business forum was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
