President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has arrived in Turkmenistan’s coastal city of Turkmenbashi on Wednesday to attend the first summit of Heads of State of Turkmenistan, Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
Upon arrival at the Turkmenbashi International Airport, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were welcomed by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and other officials, the Press Service of the President of Azerbaijan said in a statement.
On Tuesday night, the Turkish Leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also arrived in Turkmenbashi to attend the trilateral summit.
The summit between the Presidents of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye will take place in the Avaza national tourist zone on the Caspian coast on Wednesday. The meeting is expected to discuss steps to further deepen cooperation between the three countries, primarily in the fields of trade, energy and transport.
