Trade Between Turkmenistan and Iran Jumps 35.58%

The value of Iran’s exports to Turkmenistan in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-November 21) increased by 35.58 percent compared to the same period of last year, the Iranian Mehr news agency reported last Thursday with reference to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

During the period, Turkmenistan and Iran traded 924,553 tons of products worth $311.82 million.

Iran's total trade turnover period with Caspian Sea littoral states in the first eight months reached 4.62 million tons worth $2.49 billion, a 17.47 percent rise in value compared to the similar period of last year. Russia was Iran’s main trading partner among the Caspian states during the period with 2.63 million tons of products worth $1.48 billion (up 8.36%).

Iran’s exports to the Caspian littoral states exceeded $1.33 billion during the period, registering a 29.44 percent rise.
