Turkmenistan-based turkey products maker Maksada Okgunly Individual Enterprise started production of canned turkey meat, the first such production in the country, the official Turkmen media reported on Wednesday.
The new production with a capacity of up to 500 tons of canned products per year was launched in Gokdepe district of Ahal province. The automated line currently produces three types of canned turkey meat. The products are prepared from different parts of turkey meat – thigh fillets, breasts, bones – without flavor enhancers, emulsifiers and other artificial additives.
These canned products have a long shelf life and are suitable for consumption both cold and warmed. The canned food is produced in glass containers made by Türkmenaýnaönümleri, according to the report.
According to the Head of the company Maksat Ibragimov, the plant will expand the range of canned poultry meat by producing new types of products for long-term storage. In particular, the new production facility will master the production of children's and hypoallergenic food and turkey meat pate. The company also targets production of canned sausages, hams and other delicacies.
The company’s complex in Gokdepe was the first in the country to organize import of turkey eggs and is now the leader in the poultry breeding and the first enterprise in Turkmenistan to organize industrial processing of turkey meat. Due to the use of advanced European technology, the poultry complex can produce 11 thousand tons of turkey meat per year. The plant also prepares its own special feed for turkeys.
