Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Wednesday made a working trip to the outskirts of Ashgabat, during which he paid special attention to the matters of rational water use of the Karakum River and other sources, ensuring the normal water flow in the rivers and strengthening the banks of rivers and channels, the country’s official media reports.
At the 798th kilometer of the Karagum River, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was welcomed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, Chairman of the State Committee for Construction of the Administrative Center of Ahal Province Deryageldi Orazov, Mayor of Arkadag city Shamuhammet Durdyliyev and Mayor of Ashgabat Rahym Gandymov, as well as heads of Altcom Alexander Tislenko and Interbudmontazh Vladimir Petruk.
The Halk Maslakhaty Chairman emphasized that much attention is paid to maintaining inland water bodies in proper condition, cleaning them from silt, ensuring the uniform flow of water, and noted the usefulness of using the best practices of our foreign partners in addressing these issues.
The head of Altcom company, which is entrusted with the construction of the bridge across the Garabogaz Bay, briefed about the ongoing work at the site, while the Head of the construction company Interbudmontazh informed about the laying of sewerage and drainage systems in the country.
The company managers emphasized that they were honored to take part in projects in Turkmenistan, which is recognized as a reliable partner in the world with favorable conditions for effective work of foreign companies. They expressed willingness to effectively use the experience accumulated in this direction in their work.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need for responsible approach to addressing the issues of water resources use using the latest achievements of science and gave a number of specific recommendations to the relevant officials.
