Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atajan Mowlamov and Pakistan's Federal Minister for Energy (Power Division) Khurram Dastgir Khan in a meeting in Islamabad on Thursday discussed prospects of trade-economic cooperation in the fuel-energy sector and further development of bilateral relations.
Atajan Movlamov informed of the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line projects, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
The Federal Minister, in turn, emphasized the importance of TAPI and TAP projects for Pakistan's energy security. Khurram Dastgir Khan stressed that the Pakistani government fully supports these joint projects and is interested in their speedy implementation.
The two sides noted the importance of bilateral meetings and visits to accelerate the implementation of these major joint projects.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Minister of State for Petroleum of Pakistan Musadik Masood Malik in a meeting in Ashgabat in September last year discussed trade-economic cooperation between the countries, including the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project.
