Tajikistan’s capital Dushanbe will host the International Conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS) this year from June 5 to 7, Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan reports.
Representatives of the IFAS founder-states – Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan – will take part in the event.
Regular session of the Council of Heads of the IFAS founder-states will be held in September of this year in Dushanbe, capital city of Tajikistan along with the fifth anniversary Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States.
The International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS) was established in 1992 at the initiative of the Heads of Central Asian States with the aim of improving the socio-economic and environmental situation in the Aral Sea basin.
