Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkmenistan Azizbek Madmarov has held series of meetings with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Minister of Energy of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat, during which the sides discussed bilateral cooperation in the fuel and energy, electricity, industrial and agro-industrial sectors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said in its Thursday press release.
Particularly, the meetings were held with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Ashirguly Begliev, supervising oil and gas complex, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Baymyrat Annammedov, supervising electric power, construction and industry, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Annageldi Yazmyradov, supervising agro-industrial complex, and Minister of Energy of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Turkmen part of the Inter-governmental Kyrgyz-Turkmen Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
During the meetings, the sides discussed the implementation of the Kyrgyz-Turkmen agreements and the progress of draft bilateral documents under consideration by parties. The meetings also addressed expanding cooperation in trade-economic spheres and new possible areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Kyrgyz Ambassador stressed the importance of intensifying the activities of the Kyrgyz-Turkmen intergovernmental commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and humanitarian cooperation, as well as to expand the formats of bilateral cooperation.
At the end, the representatives reaffirmed their intention to further promote interaction between the competent ministries and agencies of the two countries and maintain regular contacts.
