Asian Development Bank (ADB) Turkmenistan Resident Mission requires Sector and Safeguards Expert in Catalyzing Innovation and Strengthening Project Readiness and Implementation (National)

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has been a long-standing development partner of Turkmenistan. ADB is committed to supporting the country’s vision of transforming into a more sustainable, resilient, and competitive economy while enhancing regional connectivity. Some of the key areas of ADB’s support include energy, transport, water and urban, agriculture, health and education, and digital, among others.

The Sector and Safeguards Expert will support ADB’s work in Digital, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Social Sectors, and Safeguards.  The expert will work to identify potential opportunities in these spaces, support processing of new projects, support implementation of the Nursing Project, and oversee safeguards related activities for the Turkmenistan Resident Mission.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in social sectors, social or economic development, safeguards, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in socio-economic development or a related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of processes and protocols of the Government of Turkmenistan.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects and technical assistance projects, ideally with bilateral or international organizations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Russian, and Turkmen are required.
• Familiarity with procurement procedures of bilateral or international organizations would be an advantage.
• Prior work experience with bilateral or international organizations is highly preferable.
