The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Friday as part of his working visit to Astana, official Turkmen media reports.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the development of Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation and interaction within the framework of the Organisation of Turkic States in various areas.
As reported, particular emphasis was placed on expanding trade and economy, transport and logistics, and cultural and humanitarian partnerships.

Upon his arrival at Astana's Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, he received a warm welcome from officials of the Republic of Kazakhstan and members of the Turkmen government delegation.
The Organisation of Turkic States is an interstate entity established to enhance cooperation between Turkic-speaking countries in politics, economics, science, education, transport and tourism.
The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan as its member countries. Hungary, Turkmenistan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus hold observer status within the organization.
