Turkmenistan’s Gas Supplies to China to Reach 65 Bcm

Turkmenistan will increase natural gas supplies to China by up to 65 billion cubic meters per year after the commissioning of the fourth line of the gas pipeline, Batyr Amanov, the chairman of the state company Türkmengaz, said during the investment forum in Dubai, UAE.

According to the Turkmenistan Oil and Gas Industry e-newspaper, the route of the fourth line of the gas pipeline to China will be laid from the border of Turkmenistan through the territory of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

To meet this higher demand, the second phase of the Galkynysh field's development has been proposed to generate an additional 25 billion cubic meters of gas. This field has an estimated 27.4 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, and Mr. Amanov noted its uniqueness.

An international forum on attracting foreign investment in the energy sector of Turkmenistan started on Thursday in Dubai at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
