President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree at the Friday meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the establishment of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, based on a subdivision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan.
The document was adopted to reform the spheres of agriculture and environmental protection of the country and further improve the efficiency of their activities, the official Turkmen media reported.
According to the decree, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, together with the Ministry of Justice and other relevant ministries, are ordered to prepare and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan draft regulations on the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the structures of their central apparatuses, proposals on the salaries of the heads, staffing of the central apparatuses, and regulations on the introduction into the legislation of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan.
President Berdimuhamedov dismissed Allanur Altyyev from the post of Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan for shortcomings in the work.
Nazarmyrat Nazarmyradov was appointed Minister of Agriculture, and Charygeldi Babanyyazov, currently heading the Committee on Environmental Protection, Nature Management and Agro-Industrial Complex of the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan, was appointed Minister of Environmental Protection.
The meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers reviewed the results of work done over the past six months, and President Berdimuhamedov appointed new heads of state agencies and ministries.
