Investments in Turkmenistan to Exceed 37 Billion Manats This Year

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced during a Halk Maslakhaty meeting in Ashgabat on Sunday that this year the country will see investments of 37.4 billion manats in production and socio-cultural spheres, according to the country’s official media.

"At the expense of these funds, we are building and modernising new facilities of production and socio-cultural purposes. We are transforming cities and villages through the large-scale construction of residential complexes," President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.

Turkmen President also stated that the country is actively undertaking extensive regional and national investment projects aimed at producing high-tech and competitive products, as well as establishing robust economic and social systems in different regions of the country.

The Head of State emphasized the country's efforts to enhance the effectiveness of its state investment policy. This includes a systematic increase in investments in processing and manufacturing industries to accelerate their development. As a result, Turkmenistan has maintained a steady GDP growth rate of 6.2 percent since the beginning of the year.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also acknowledged the need to make necessary adjustments to the approved development plans in light of the results from the population census, highlighting the importance of incorporating this data into future planning.
