Arkadag City to Establish New Agricultural Campus, Higher Education Institution

During a working trip to Arkadag, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced plans to establish a modern agricultural town in Arkadag. The town will include a university and research institutes, and the development is expected to be completed soon, the Turkmen official media reports.

During his visit, the president examined the master plan of the Agricultural University complex in Arkadag and was briefed on various proposed scientific and production facilities, experimental sites, and agricultural fields associated with the university. It included land areas designated for silk and plant protection, cultivation of fodder crops, fruit trees, grapes, vegetable and melon crops, cotton, grain production and the establishment and dimensions of the planned greenhouses.

In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan instructed to review these projects and conduct an international tender to construct the facilities.

Furthermore, Serdar Berdimuhamedov got acquainted with the projects for the construction of the Ministry of Agriculture's Research Institute for Cotton Growing in the Yoloten district of Mary province, as well as the research institutes dedicated to grain cultivation and general agriculture in Arkadag City.

At the end of the working meeting, the head of state wished everyone success in fulfilling the set tasks and left the event venue.

During the trip, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised the importance of increasing state purchase prices for cotton and grain.
