Leaders from the “Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair” Joint Stock Company met with representatives of Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd. on January 29, 2024. During the discussions, both parties expressed confidence in achieving positive outcomes through their collaboration in ship construction. Plans were solidified for the commencement of shipbuilding operations in the near future.
According to the Türkmendeňizderýaýollary (Turkmen Maritime and River Roads) Agency's report on Tuesday, a preliminary plan has been formulated to execute the agreement signed on September 13, 2023. This agreement outlines the joint construction of two dry cargo ships with a carrying capacity of 6,100 tons and was forged between Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant and Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd.
The meeting also covered plans for implementing training programs for specialists within Balkan Plant production structure. The discussions addressed specific issues related to shipbuilding and the certification process of the Balkan Plant in alignment with international ISO standards.
Representatives from Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd. conducted a working visit, during which they familiarized themselves with the living conditions that the Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant will provide throughout the shipbuilding project's implementation.
