Turkmenistan Holds Events to Celebrate International Women's Day
The ceremony honoring mothers of many children, March 7, 2024, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

Ceremonies commemorating International Women's Day took place in Turkmenistan on Thursday. Following President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's instructions, ceremonies were conducted to honor mothers who have given birth to and raised eight or more children, granting them the prestigious title of Ene mähri as per the President's Decree. Large families were also presented with keys to new, comfortable flats.

Hundreds of Turkmen women were awarded the honorary title Ene mähri this year, in accordance with the Decree signed by the President of Turkmenistan. The keys to houses in the Berkararlyk and Büzmeyin districts of the capital Ashgabat, as well as homes built in the city of Arkadag, were granted to large families.

On the eve of the holiday, ministries, departments, institutions, organizations, and enterprises of all forms of ownership also held ceremonies to present cash gifts to women on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.

In celebration of the holiday, concerts, exhibitions, competitions, various meetings, and other events are taking place in all provinces of the country.
