Turkmen Envoy Meets Pakistani Federal Minister for Petroleum

Atajan Movlamov, Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Pakistan, met with Pakistan's Federal Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik on March 26, 2024, in Islamabad, THP news portal reported on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Ambassador Atajan Movlamov congratulated Minister Musadik Malik on assuming office and commended his work.

The Minister expressed gratitude for the support and expressed readiness to continue cooperation between the two countries. Musadik Malik also emphasized that the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline is a key project and underscored Pakistan's intention to complete this project.

Furthermore, the Pakistani Federal Minister for Petroleum assured the Turkmen side of his firm commitment to continue the implementation of this project at the current pace.

The pipeline will connect Turkmenistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan and India, and is expected to annually transport 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas along 1,800 km route from the Galkynysh gas field, the world's second-largest gas field, to the Indian city of Fazilka near the Pakistan border.
