Turkmenistan plans to construct a plant for the development of mineral resources in the Garabogazgol Bay in the Balkan Region. Dovrangeldi Sapbaev, the Chairman of the state concern Türkmenhimiýa (Turkmen Chemicals), made this announcement during his speech at the Turkmenistan Energy Investment Forum (TEIF 2024) in Paris, France, as reported by TASS.

"The mineral wealth of the bay serves as an almost inexhaustible source of raw materials for the production of a wide range of magnesium, sodium salts, bromine compounds, and boron. Accordingly, in the near future, we plan to implement a project to build a modern chemical plant for the comprehensive development of the unique mineral resources of Garabogazgol Bay," noted Sapbaev.

The Chairman of the state concern also mentioned that in the near future, the construction of three new plants for the production of iodine, bromine, and their derivatives is planned.

Turkmenistan Energy Investment Forum took place on April 24-25 in Paris. During the event, participants discussed prospects for cooperating in exploring, transporting, and processing oil and gas.
