Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský on Thursday during the UN General Assembly in New York. During the meeting, the parties discussed the significance of the upcoming visit of a Czech business delegation to Ashgabat in October this year.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Meredov and Lipavský agreed to draft a Memorandum of Understanding and a Cooperation Program between the ministries of both countries.
Special attention was given to inter-parliamentary dialogue, highlighting the importance of the upcoming visit of the Vice-Speaker of the Czech Parliament to Turkmenistan, scheduled for 2025.
In the context of trade and economic discussions, both sides emphasized the potential for further expansion of cooperation. They also agreed to establish a bilateral working group focused on developing economic ties.
