Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry Offers Condolences to Azerbaijan After Plane Crash

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Head of the Department of State Protocol and International Relations of the President's Apparatus, Serdar Muhammetdurdyyev, visited the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ashgabat on Thursday in connection with the declared Day of Mourning in the Republic, as reported by the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission.

On behalf of the Turkmen side, he expressed condolences to the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Gismet Gezalov, regarding the plane crash.

Muhametdurdyyev also left a note in the condolence book, expressing deep sorrow and solidarity with the Azerbaijani people during this difficult time.

On December 25, a passenger aircraft, an Embraer 190, crashed in Aktau, Kazakhstan, while en route from Baku to Grozny. Several passengers lost their lives as a result of the crash.

There were 67 people on board, including 42 Azerbaijani citizens, 16 from Russia, six from Kazakhstan, and three from Kyrgyzstan. The tragedy claimed the lives of 38 people, as reported by Interfax on Thursday.
