The U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing announced plans to update the design of dollar bills to enhance counterfeit protection, according to official media of Turkmenistan on Wednesday.
The first bill with the updated design will be the $10 bill, which will enter circulation in 2026.
A new series of $50 bills will be released in 2028, followed by the $20 bills in 2030. Changes will affect the $5 bills in 2032, and new $100 bills will come into circulation in 2034.
Design changes for bills occur periodically, with the last updates taking place in the 1990s, 2004, and 2013.
