Officials Discuss Japanese Companies' Role in Building Factories in Turkmenistan

Governor of Balkan Velayat, Hojamyrat Ashyrmyradov, held a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Hiroyuki Sasaki. During the visit, the two sides discussed prospects for further cooperation, including potential projects for building factories with the participation of Japanese companies, the Japanese Embassy in Turkmenistan reported on Friday.

The Ambassador also visited the village of Gerkez, the birthplace of poet Magtymguly Pyragy, and the Gozli Ata Mausoleum, a revered sacred site in Turkmenistan, as part of the trip.

Turkmenistan actively collaborates with Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. The Japanese company has implemented a number of major projects in the country, including a gasoline production plant from natural gas in Ovadan Depe, a urea plant in Mary velayat, and the Kelete cement plant.

Earlier, Turkmenistan and Japan discussed organizational aspects of the upcoming visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Japan, scheduled for April 2025.
