Under the "National Program of the President of Turkmenistan for Transforming the Social and Living Conditions of the Population in Villages, Settlements, Towns, Etraps, and Etrap Centers for the Period Until 2028", a total of 87 socio-cultural facilities will be built in Turkmenistan. These projects are aimed at improving the quality of life and developing infrastructure in the regions, according to the Turkmenistan newspaper on Tuesday.
The plan includes the construction of 4 hospitals, 12 clinics and medical centers, 17 preschool institutions, 32 schools, 4 cultural houses, 12 water purification facilities, and 6 sewage treatment plants. Additionally, modern engineering infrastructure will be developed, including water supply systems, sewerage networks, gas pipelines, roads, power lines, and telephone networks.
In the Ahal region 19 facilities will be built, including schools, kindergartens, medical institutions, and purification stations. Around 850 km of water pipelines, 560 km of roads, 260 km of gas pipelines, and almost 500 km of power lines will also be installed.
In the Balkan region 14 facilities will be constructed, including two hospitals, two clinics and medical centers, cultural houses, schools, and water purification stations. Over 368 km of roads and 150 km of gas pipelines will be built here.
The Dashoguz region will see construction of 19 facilities, including schools, kindergartens, medical institutions, and water purification facilities. Meanwhile, in the Lebap region, 16 new facilities will be built, and one hospital will undergo reconstruction.
In the Mary region 18 facilities will be built and renovated, including a hospital, three clinics and medical centers, three kindergartens, six schools, and five water purification plants. The total residential area will amount to 147,000 square meters, and the total length of the roads will be nearly 400 km.
The program also includes the development of transport and telecommunications infrastructure, including the construction of high-speed highways, improving logistics, and expanding communication networks.
The "National Program of the President of Turkmenistan for Transforming the Social and Living Conditions of the Population in Villages, Settlements, Towns, Etraps, and Etrap Centers for the Period Until 2028" was approved on July 11, 2025.
