President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree Friday during a Cabinet meeting, designating Dec. 11–13 as public holidays. The decision marks the 30th anniversary of the country’s permanent neutrality, the Watan habarlary news program reported.
An international forum will be held Dec. 12 in Ashgabat to commemorate the International Year of Peace and Trust, International Neutrality Day, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
The president instructed Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov to ensure the forum is held at the highest level.
